Rising Sun Records is part of the Shampén group Inc. of companies based in Los Angeles, CA
Rising Sun is an Indie label founded by Earl J. Foster Jr., formally of the group known as Tribe.
Tribe an ABC-Dunhill and Farr records recording group had records that made the charts all over the world. Earl Foster Has returned to his native home of Los Angeles CA from Japan where for the past twelve years has been living and working a musician, vocalist and independent producer. Rising Sun Records was one of the few companies completely owned by a foreigner in Japan. The company has a modest staff of about thirty people and an artist roster of four groups.

All of the groups were put together by Earl Foster.

Shampén and the Chill

A seven piece band of great musicians, hand picked by Earl Foster aka Shampén, with a fresh new musical style we call, "Nouveauretropop", because of the use of all kinds of cool analog and digital sounds, great songs, and the great guitar work of the "Zainmiester", Zaindre Yarbourough of ZK Productions, and bassist, "JaJa", Jardine Powell, formally of Tribe, The hot drum work of "Marvelous", Marvin Baker and the rest of the crew. Tribe IV:Resurrection A new Tribe album now in the works, featuring the great vocal stylings of Joe Leavy & Earl J. Foster Jr. Following in the rich tradition of the past Tribe albums, this album features great songs, great vocals and showcases The Maturity of the Tribe sound.
Jeff Foster:Kool Man Kool
Keyboardist Jeff Foster will soon release his debut "Cool Jazz" album, Kool Man Kool on Rising Sun Records, an album featuring many of the best west and east coast musicians and featuring the vocal and keyboard stylings of Jeff Foster.
